Privacy glass allows rear seat passengers to travel more discreetly and provides increased security by restricting vision into the cabin. It reduces UV light transmission, making the vehicle a safer, more pleasurable place to be. Privacy glass also keeps temperatures at a lower level in hot climates, enabling the vehicles air conditioning system to improve efficiency and performance.
-
Electrochromatic exterior door mirrors
Auto dimming exterior mirrors provide a dipping function that detects excessive light and automatically darkens the mirror glass. This reduces glare from the headlamps of other vehicles in dark or low light conditions, improving the driver's rearward vision.

Vision Assist Pack
The Vision Assist Pack combines three highly effective technology systems for exceptional visibility that enhances both driving comfort and safety. The Surround Camera System uses five digital cameras, discreetly placed around the vehicle, to provide an almost complete 360 degree, real-time view of the surrounding area on the Touch-screen. The technology is also perfectly suited to providing help with more complex driving assignments such as towing a yacht or horsebox. The blind spot monitor is an innovative system that uses side-mounted radar sensors to survey any blind spots and alert the driver to vehicles detected within this area. Additionally, Automatic High Beam Assist (AHBA) is incorporated into the front headlight system to make night driving an altogether more relaxing experience. For instance, the high beam headlights can automatically switch on when external light levels dip below a certain threshold. Importantly, AHBA is also designed to detect preceding and approaching traffic, and in a split second will alternate between high and dipped beams to avoid dazzling others while maximising driver visibility.

DRIVING AND TRANSMISSION
DRIVING AND TRANSMISSION
The 4.4 litre LR-TDV8 Diesel engine features an eight-speed automatic transmission incorporating Drive Select with Paddle Shift as standard to deliver performance, refinement and an ultimate breadth of capability. The LR-V8 Supercharged Petrol engine features a six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift® for better response and smoother, more efficient gear changes.
- As Standard with this model of The Range Rover
-
Drive Select with Paddle Shift (Diesel Only)
An eight-speed automatic transmission, incorporating Drive Select with Paddle Shift, is fitted to all vehicles with the 4.4 litre LR-TDV8 Diesel engines. This features both the convenience of a rotary selector, which rises from the centre console as soon as the ignition is switched on, as well as the opportunity for the driver to manually select gears via the Paddle Shift controls on the steering wheel.
-
Terrain Response®
Patented Terrain Response® technology helps the driver confidently conquer gravel, grass, snow, rocks, and tarmac. By simply choosing the appropriate icon on the conveniently positioned selector, the engine, transmission, suspension, and traction settings are instantly reconfigured for optimum driveability in all conditions. This driving technology takes yet another step forward with Gradient Acceleration Control and Hill Start Assist. Gradient Acceleration Control prevents situations where the vehicle might accelerate too quickly on a steep gradient (and Hill Descent Control has not been selected), allowing the driver time to regain control. Hill Start Assist automatically releases brake pressure on a steep gradient and prevents the vehicle from inadvertently rolling backwards.
-
Four-wheel Electronic Traction Control
- Permanent four-wheel drive with high and low range
- Closed Loop Diesel Particle Filter
SUSPENSION AND STEERING
SUSPENSION AND STEERING
Air suspension, standard on every Range Rover, works with Terrain Response® to provide sublime handling, comfort and capability. In addition, Adaptive Dynamics (standard on all models) ensures the ultimate Range Rover driving experience with enhanced control.
- As Standard with this model of The Range Rover
-
Electronic cross linked air suspension
Electronic air suspension with automatic load-levelling comes as standard on The Range Rover. This feature automatically compensates for a wide variety of vehicle loads. The addition of a new control system also means that the variable dampers are adjusted 100 times a second to produce an exceptionally comfortable ride, whatever the road or driving conditions.
-
Adaptive Dynamics
The Adaptive Dynamics suspension system provides the best ever Range Rover experience over rough roads by fully utilising the vehicle's long suspension travel to absorb potholes or ruts. It also provides enhanced control at higher speeds while cornering or braking. The system monitors the road 500 times a second and predicts the driver's actions, constantly fine tuning the suspension settings of each wheel of the vehicle to best suit the terrain. This helps ensure that all occupants are transported in the greatest possible comfort, regardless of the road surface and variations in conditions.
-
Paddleshift
-
Hill Descent Control (HDC) with Gradient Release Control (GRC)
The combination of Electronic Centre Differential and upgraded Hill Descent Control with Gradient Release Control gives The Range Rover driver total confidence over some of the most precipitous terrain. When engaged and where a sharp descent is detected, the HDC system automatically engages to achieve maximum grip. Varied brake and acceleration pressure then smoothly release the vehicle down the gradient until the optimum descent rate is reached, all without effort on the driver's part.
- Linear power-assisted rack and pinion steering with positive feel hydraulic and mechanical lock stops, electrically adjustable steering column and multi-functional steering wheel
- Intelligent terrain recognition software
- MacPherson struts with double lower control arms of vertical travel
- Double wishbone of vertical travel
- Options & Upgrades for this model of The Range Rover
-
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) (includes Advanced Emergency Brake Assist)
The Range Rover is available with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which provides even earlier identification of vehicles that may move into your path. This third-generation ACC system uses 12 beams to scan the road ahead 10 times every second, making it one of the most advanced systems available. It also offers more progressive deceleration, resets more accurately and is better able to indentify smaller road users, such as motorcycles, against larger vehicles and trucks. The ACC can be programmed to one of four settings. These are between 1.0 and 2.2 second intervals from the vehicle in front in normal driving conditions and when either Grass, Gravel or Snow are selected on the Terrain Response® dial. The ACC is also complemented by Forward Alert and Advanced Emergency Brake Assist (AEBA), all working together to help avoid a collision, in the first instance, by giving audible and visual alerts. Should an impact become inevitable, the AEBA with full ABS is triggered. This typically saves up to two-thirds of the time of the emergency brake assist system.
